Frequently Asked Questions
How long are sessions and how often do people come?Standard sessions are 50-60 minutes. Many people start with weekly sessions, then shift to every other week as things stabilize. Frequency is flexible and based on what feels useful to you.
How do sessions work if everything is virtual?Sessions are held over a secure video platform. You’ll get a private link before each appointment. Most people find a quiet spot at home works well—headphones help with privacy. If tech issues come up, we can switch to phone.
Do you take insurance?Yes. I accept many insurance plans through Headway. You can check whether your specific plan is covered and see your estimated cost by visiting my Headway profile here:

If your plan is listed, you can book directly through that page. If you have questions after checking, feel free to reach out.
What should I expect in the first session? We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re hoping for. I’ll share a bit about how I work and answer questions. It’s also a chance for both of us to see whether it feels like a good fit. No pressure to share everything right away.
How do you work with chronic illness?I support adults and seniors living with chronic illness by focusing on the emotional, practical, and relational challenges that come with it. Drawing on my background in medical settings and my training as a certified dialectical behavior therapist, we work together on skills like emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness to help you manage stress, uncertainty, medical demands, and daily limitations. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your energy and needs, so you can feel more grounded and supported in this chapter of your life.
What’s your approach like?I’m licensed as an LCSW in Colorado and use an eclectic approach. That means I draw from different evidence-based tools (including DBT skills) depending on what fits you and what you’re dealing with, rather than applying one rigid model to everyone. Sessions tend to be collaborative and practical.
What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me, or if we’ll be a good fit? That’s common. You’re welcome to ask questions by email before booking, or we can do a brief consult call. If it doesn’t feel right after we start, I’ll help you think about other options.
